About me
In short, I'm an astronomer. Astronomy is many things for me and I could launch into any number of platitudes about it. It is obviously my work, my passion and at times, an obsession. However, I find a balance is needed here. In the moment, the next paper, next talk or next application seems overwhelmingly significant. It is in these moments I look for respite in reading, running and if I'm being honest, knocking back a cold one with friends.
Career thus far
My studies have primarily taken place at the University of Sydney. It is where I did my Bachelor of Science (Honours) and where I'm currently based for my PhD. I am fortunate to be supervised by Elaine Sadler and Elizabeth Mahony, as well as Caroline Foster during Honours. During my PhD, I have spent two years at the European Southern Observatory in Garching working with Céline Péroux and Martin Zwaan.
My interests broadly lie in studying gas in and around galaxies. Much of my work thus far involves the study of absorbers towards background sources and their galaxy counterparts. I work with both radio and optical wavelengths and have recently dipped my toes into cosmological simulations.
